I’m Tim Hirschel-Burns and I’m a junior Political Science major at Swarthmore College. I’m currently STAND’s Midwest Regional Organizer. In the past I’ve studied development for a semester in Dakar, Senegal and interned at Global Reseach and Advocacy Group. I served as Policy Intern for STAND, as STAND’s Emerging Conflicts Coordinator, and I am involved in STAND and Students for Peace and Justice in Palestine on campus. I have also been involved in Amnesty International and interned at the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. I am interested in development, poverty, and mass atrocities as well as activism, political advocacy, and NGOs. This blog aims to explore efforts to change global problems, with a main focus on efforts originating from Western countries. Follow me on Twitter at @TimH_B.
